Scope Definition Items Beyond Scope Project Information Technology Essay
Scope Definition Items Beyond Scope Project Information Technology Essay This Project Plan document applies to a university project on Policy Based Encrypted Content which is developed by a group of students [Stephen Obikobe Obi, Adebowale Oni, Habibat N. Yakubu, Rajarshi C. Roy, and Abdullahi Yakubu] as their final year project. It allows users to use their mobile phones to capture images and send the captured images to a blog where they can restrict the people who view these pictures based on policies they set on the pictures and the location where the picture is taken will also be attached on their page on the blog. The TourPicx blog and mobile application allows registered members to; Capture image Images can be captured and uploaded to the TourPicx-Blog with selected policy by registered members only who have the software on their mobile device either in online or offline mode. Capture Options After images are captured, they can be discarded if the user does not want to upload them to his/her page on the blog, captured images can also be saved on the users mobile phone alone without uploading them to the TourPicx-Blog, captured images can be saved on the users mobile phone alone or uploaded to the TourPicx-Blog alone without saving the captured image on the users mobile phone. Set policies on photo albums Pictures are sorted according to albums/policy for example an album named Family and friends may contain 30 pictures and only friends that belong to the family and friend policy can watch pictures in this album. Each member can have a maximum of ten policies and minimum of two policies by default i.e. private and public. Comment on pictures Friends belonging to a particular policy can comment on pictures under that policy, also comments made on a picture can be made private (i.e. only the person who made the comment and the owner of the picture can view the comment) or public (everyone can view the comment). Comments made private can only be deleted by the owner of the picture but cannot be set as public by the owner of the picture only the person who made the comment can make the comment public or delete his/her comment. Add/edit/delete friends, policies, pictures and comments (View Technical manual) Items beyond Scope Development of a Platform independent software i.e the software TourPicx-Mobile software should work on any mobile phone device. There is no requirement for advertisement of the project for commercial purpose, since we are not selling our software. There will be no need for any desktop hardware upgrade or replacement for users to make use of our software as long as there device meets all requirements stated. Protection of data other than those associated with TourPicx-Mobile on the users phone. Project Assumptions Project team members are available at all time and the project manager will take on the role as coordinator at all times to ensure the project is on schedule. Project team members will hold on strictly to the communications plan and guidelines identified within this plan, failure to do so will result in a penalty. Although the project requirements are defined, there might be changes in the Project Plan as new information and issues are discovered. In addition to their main role, every project team member will work on more than one task throughout the development process. Project design, requirements and specification will be discussed with the whole team at all times due to the small size of the team,. All project team members are required to prepare individual testing on their part, as well as draft documentation of their work. The system analyst will do the overall final performance testing at the end of the testing stage. All project deliverables will be ready before 1st of January 2011. Ã Ã
Project Constraints There can only be a maximum of five (5) team members and a minimum of two (2) for this particular project. Implementation of the project must be completed within four (4) months. Computer resources/ software resources are limited i.e some project development team members cannot install some software on their system due to installation requirements. The development/ working environment is new and no project team members are totally familiar with it. Integration of individual components is hard because project team members often work seperately and the development environment is new to team members. Statistics used in preparing the estimates for completion/ delivery dates and budget are not fully reliable Meetings with the supervisor are scheduled on specific dates, other meetings will have to be through email or phone contact. The scope of the project is not strictly defined. Related Projects foursquare foursquare.com is a location-based social networking website based on software for mobile devices. This service is available to users with GPS-enabled mobile devices, such as smartphones. Users check-in at venues using a mobile website, text messaging or a device-specific application by running the application and selecting from a list of venues that the application locates nearby. Each check-in awards the user points and sometimes badges. Gowalla Gowalla.com is a web site and, more importantly, an iPhone application that allows you to check in with your social network from where ever you are. When you use your phone, Gowalla locates you through GPS, and then allows you to check in at the location, share a message about where you are and why youre there and pick up virtual items. Critical Project Barriers This involves undefeatable matters that can be destructive to progressof the project, should any of the events listed below occur, the Project Plan will become invalid. Removal of project funding for the project by project team members or close down of the college. Loss of project data and recovery data including implementation plan or project plan. Plagiarism case is not expected in the project. Complete lack of understanding regarding which team member needs what information and when they need it. Inaccurate pieces of information sent to wrong receivers e.g. sending a team member a version of the work schedule in Microsoft Project when the recipient is not familiar with the the planning tool. Cost Management Process There was no real budget plan for this project but an estimate of about $550 maximum was set aside, the whole project budget was handled by the lead programmer for the duration of the project. Below is a sample of the expense form on the costs incurred during this project development. Below is the expense summary for the project. Corporal Punishment Is Physical Abuse :: essays research papers fc
Corporal Punishment Is Physical Abuse Corporal punishment is the execution of a judicially imposed sentence that inflicts a manner of physical pain upon the offenders body without killing him. In the past corporal punishment included flogging, whipping, branding and facial or bodily mutilation of all types. Corporal punishment also refers to the discipline of children at home and in schools but it was made illegal for punishing schoolchildren in 1986. Historically, corporal punishment was used in the ancient law codes of Hammurabi and Moses, in laws of Sparta and other Greek city states, in early Christian church teachings and in Anglo-Saxon common laws. It is still used in many parts of the world and remains in the criminal codes of several European communities. In the twentieth century, corporal punishment has received severe criticism. Many people believe it is a barbaric relic of a bygone age, completely opposite with present day humanitarian ethics. With a rising crime rate many are favouring the reinstitution of physical punishment for very wicked crimes. It has been shown that many adults in England want the restoration of corporal punishment for certain crimes, hoping that it will effect the reaction against an ever increasing amount of crime. The use of corporal punishment on children has also dropped sharply. In many school systems of the United States, for example, corporal punishment has been outlawed, it is also illegal in countries such as Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. Corporal punishment for certain offences is very effective, because it's done quickly and feared by all. Not only will it teach the offender not to repeat his violent actions but it will also discourage him. It teaches the school boy or convict that doing wrong will be followed by pain and suffering. When used justly and without anger the giver is not brutalised. In many independent schools where it still occurs it is thought of as a final punishment. It accustoms the pupils to the hardships of real life and no bitterness is left after it has been used for good reasons. It is always impossible to make the punishment fit the crime, with corporal punishment the amount can be adjusted to suit the offender. It is much better than other punishments which are deadening to the mind and the body. Schools which don't find corporal punishment essential, especially for young children, substitute it with other methods which are equivalent to terrorising. Detentions are also harmful because they increase the nu mber of hours a boy is forced to spend indoors in physical inactivity. His restlessness is increased by the enforced restraint which leads to further

Hardware Replacement Project Essay
Assignment: 1 Hardware Replacement Project: Hardware Replacement Project: Your Name Instructors Name Date Assignment: 2 The IT- department in implementing a new CRM solution to its corporate offices. The hardware currently in use is out of date and will not support the CRM application. The hardware must replace prior to deployment. How do the five major variables of project management-scope, time, cost, quality, and risk ââ¬â relate to this scenario? Scope: Defines what work is or is not included in a project. For example, the scope of a Project for a new order processing system might include new modules for inputting orders And transmitting them to production and accounting but not any changes to related accounts Receivable, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory control systems. Project management Defines all the work required to complete a project successfully, and should ensure that the Scopes of a project not expand beyond what was originally intended. Time: Time is the amount of time required to complete the project. Project management Typically establishes the amount of time required to complete major components of a Project. Each of these components is further broken down into activities and tasks. Project Management tries to determine the time required to complete each task and establish a Schedule for completing the work. Cost: Is based on the time to complete a project multiplied by the daily cost of human Resources required completing the project. Information systems project costs also include The cost of hardware, software, and work space. Project management develops a budget for The project and monitors ongoing project expenses. Risk: Refers to potential problems that would threaten the success of a project. These Potential problems might prevent a project from achieving its objectives by increasing time And cost, lowering the quality of project outputs, or preventing the project from being Completed altogether. We discuss the most important risk factors for information systems Projects later in this section. Assignment: 3 What consideration must be applied when selecting projects that deliver the best business value? A project is a planned series of related activities for achieving a specific business objective. Information systems projects include the development of new information systems, Enhancing existing systems, or projects for replacing or upgrading the firmââ¬â¢s information Technology (IT) infrastructure. Project management refers to the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to achieve specific targets within specified budget and time constraints. Project management activities include planning the work, assessing risk, estimating resources required to Accomplish the work, organizing the work, acquiring human and material resources, assigning Tasks, directing activities, controlling project execution, reporting progress, and analyzing the Results. As in other areas of business, project management for information systems must deal With five major variables: scope, time, cost, quality, and risk. What factors that influence project risk? Results of not meeting or achieving the goal the company needs. Some systems development projects are more likely to run into problems or to suffer delays Because they carry a much higher level of risk than others. The level of project risk is Influenced by project size, project structure, and the level of technical expertise of the Information systems staff and project team. The larger the projectââ¬âas indicated by the What strategies would you recommend for minimizing the projects risks? In a parallel strategy, both the old system and its potential replacement are run Together for a time until everyone is assured that the new one functions correctly. The old System remains available as a backup in case of problems. And the direct cutover strategy Replaces the old system entirely with the new system on an appointed day, carrying the Risk that there is no system to fall back on if problems arise. Minimizing the projects risks would be difficult for me I would really have to hire someone that would be more of a High Tech IT- to be sure that all the risks that may come with adding new software systems would be easy to manage for a lower tech that may be in house of the company, in my opinion when you change the entire systems to be updated there has to be a happy medium. In order to keep all systems functioning the way they need to. Data for any company is very important in keeping it safe from and harm during the new change processing as well. The strategies I would consider would be to make sure that every data within the company had a storage space to keep it in to avoid the risks of losing it, I would also make sure that we would start with a small portion of the updating to make sure that this new operating system would work for the company as well. There are many OS available to bigger companyââ¬â¢s and provide very good updates for the companyââ¬â¢s new systems that can and do run excellent without having a lot of risk or problems, but it was tested before actually putting in to action and use. This gave the company a better view and was able to train the employees that were going to need to know, fix, and keep the main performance and upkeep of them. Any organization can add a new OSââ¬â¢s, but the key is learning to the best of your ability to make sure that it will keep the company functioning to its best and completing the goals and requirements it needs to keep them in business as well. Also if you keep your organization with the right level of systems updating then you can be sure that you donââ¬â¢t need to hire a High tech IT service to have the up keep kept up and you are more likely to be able to train your existing IT, this will also save costs because you will not need to constantly call the high tech when you encounter a small problem. Keeping the operating system to the level of the project and the risk would most likely be less than having a system that would be overboard to what each company needs.

falcons in the uae essays
falcons in the uae essays Falconry is the upkeep of falcons. It is a very valued tradition in the UAE. Falconry is a sport that came to UAE many years ago. Poor people and rich people enjoyed it. It was a big part of their life in the desert. People think that it came by the muslim Arabs who went to Byzantine and Persia. The falcon is known as the Saqer. It is very loved by the people because of its beauty and lovely eyes. H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan loves falcons. Falconry is his favourite sport. He says falconry is a port that teaches endurance, strength, and patience. The two main species used for hunting in the UAE are the Saqr falcons (Falco Cherruq) which are brought from other Middle Eastern countries and the Peregrine (Falco Peregrinus) The Saqr is the most popular because it is good for desert hawking. The female Saqr (Al Hurr), which is larger and more powerful is the one which is used more than the male (Garmoush). The female Peregrine (Shahin or Bahri Shahin) is also thought to be better than the male (Shahin Tiba) for hunting purposes. Training falcons requires both courage and patience and it is made possible by the trainer. Ronald Codrai in his book The Seven Sheikhdoms describes the training of falcons as follows: "The key to success in falconry is the relationship of falcon and falconer who must exercise patience, skill, and devotion". The ability of a falcon to obey his master is what makes the Arabs like the sport a lot. In the training process, the falcon sits on a round wooden thing like a mushroom which moves. This is called Al Wakr. Or on the trainers hand which is protected from the sharp nails of a falcon by a big cuff which covers his hand, this is called the Mangalah. This is usually made from material which is filled with straw or cloth. This is where the falcon sits. The falcon is held by a two braids of cotton, these are called Al Sabbuq, and they are attached to a leash to make...

The Best and Worst States to Make a Living
The Best and Worst States to Make a Living Weââ¬â¢ve all heard about the American Dream, right? Itââ¬â¢s a lovely concept that has driven millions of people to set up their lives and careers all over the country. It speaks to the hard work that people do every day, hustling to maintain the best life possible for themselves and their families. The only trouble with ââ¬Å"the American Dreamâ⬠as a notion is that the U.S. is made up of 50 distinct entities, each with its own government, culture, and set of challenges. So career opportunities are not always created equally. Some states are definitely more hospitable to career growth and maintenance than others. Every year, the personal finance and investing site MoneyRates publishes the results of their research on the best and worst states to make a living. This is not to say that the ââ¬Å"worstâ⬠states should be shunned, or that you should pack your bags immediately and move to the ââ¬Å"bestâ⬠ones. But MoneyRates has evaluated five of the most crucia l, career-impacting factors to help you make an informed decision about where you want to be:Cost of LivingWorkplace safetyState tax burdensMedian wagesUnemployment ratesThese ratings are designed to help you decide where you should be, depending on your job priorities and goals. The 10 BestFirst, the good newsâ⬠¦letââ¬â¢s look at the top-rated states for making a living for 2017.1. WashingtonWashington sits at the top of the poll after knocking out six-time champ Wyoming (now #6). Although it has a fairly high cost of living (about 7% higher than other states), other factors helped elevate it above the crowd this year, like high median wages, and solid employment rates and workplace safety. Washington also does not have a tax on wages, which makes it appealing as well.2. MinnesotaIf you can handle cold winters, Minnesota is a good choice for people seeking work. Its high median wages (itââ¬â¢s in the top ten), low unemployment rate, and low number of workplace safety issue s make it a welcoming place to start your career, or make the jump to a new level. MoneyRates notes that Minnesotaââ¬â¢s state tax is the fifth-highest in the country, however, so those high wages do come with a catch.3. IllinoisIllinois is a good all-around candidate, scoring above the median in cost of living, state tax burdens, workplace safety, and median wages. The fly in the ointment: its unemployment rate of 4.9%.4. TexasDonââ¬â¢t mess with it. Texas consistently ranks highly in this study year over year, including a #1 finish in 2015. Texasââ¬â¢s shining metrics are its low cost of living (significantly lower than the national average) and the fact that workers do not pay state income tax on their wages. These benefits come with a caveat, though: Texasââ¬â¢s unemployment rate is the tenth highest in the U.S., so that is definitely something to consider if youââ¬â¢re looking to change jobs without having one in the works already.5. ColoradoAlthough itââ¬â¢s home to some of the best skiing in the country, Colorado offers more to potential employees than its outdoorsy mountain charm. Colorado earns its place on the list by having the lowest unemployment rate in the country, 2.6%. The state ranked 11th on the list of states with the highest median wages, and if youââ¬â¢re a fan of the movie This is Spinal Tap, that is basically the same as finishing in the top ten. Coloradoââ¬â¢s low unemployment and high wages are balanced out somewhat by its higher cost of living and taxes paid by workers.6. WyomingThe previous ââ¬Å"best in showâ⬠from 2016, Wyoming is still a contender- however, it lost some of its standing by an uptick in workplace safety incidents after the list was expanded to include both fatal and non-fatal incidents. Given that Wyomingââ¬â¢s top industries include mining, manufacturing, and logistics, this fact may be dismaying, but not entirely surprising. If you are in a lower-risk industry, then Wyoming can be a great place to make a living, with a strong median wage, no state income tax, and a low cost of living.7. VirginiaVirginia is for lovers, as the tourism slogan goes, but it turns out itââ¬â¢s also for workers. Like many of the top ten, Virginia is a state that gets consistently high marks year after year. Itââ¬â¢s a large state with diverse industries, and has above-average wage and unemployment rates. The state tax burden is high (perhaps keeping it from the upper echelons of the top ten), but it has a top 5 workplace safety ranking.8. OhioThe factors that sealed Ohioââ¬â¢s place in the top ten are two big ones: low cost of living and low state income tax burden. This means that although the state is about average when it comes to wages, that money can go farther than it might in other states. As with Texas, however, the unemployment rate may give you pause: at 5.1%, itââ¬â¢s the fifth-worst unemployment rate in the country.9. MichiganIf you love college football, the n Michigan just might be the place for you. While there, you would also enjoy a reasonable cost of living, strong median wage, and safe workplace. However, its state income tax is higher than other states, which keeps it from being at the top.10. KansasThereââ¬â¢s no place like home, right? If youââ¬â¢re thinking of clicking your heels and heading to Kansas, youââ¬â¢d be selecting a highly affordable state with a very low unemployment rate of 3.8% (lower than the national average). Kansasââ¬â¢s best feature is its cost of living, which is the eighth best of any state. The 10 WorstNow the less-good news. These are the ten states deemed to be the worst for making a living.1. HawaiiIt turns out that living in tropical paradise doesnââ¬â¢t come cheap. Hawaii features a high median wage (the tenth-highest of all states) and a low overall unemployment rate, but also has a very high cost of living and a very high state income tax burden. Hawaii has the dubious distinction of being the worst state for making a living for the past seven years.2. CaliforniaIf youââ¬â¢ve been humming ââ¬Å"California, Here I Comeâ⬠and thinking about making a permanent scenery change to the West Coast, the stateââ¬â¢s performance on the survey may cause you to put a pin in it. Californiaââ¬â¢s high cost of living is Hawaii-esque, and workers in the state pay high income taxes.3. MontanaKnown for its rugged terrain and independent spirit, working in Montana can be risky. The state is the third worst state in the ranking of workplace safety, thanks to injuries and workplace fatalities. The state also has a low median salary, placing in the bottom ten among all states.4. West VirginiaLike Montana, West Virginia earned its spot near the bottom with risky working conditions and low wages. The cost of living is relatively low, but this is not supported by other factors as it is in the states ranked higher on the list.5. VermontAlthough it has a low unemployment rat e (itââ¬â¢s among the top ten in the country in that regard), Vermont also has a very high cost of living (itââ¬â¢s among the bottom ten in the country in that regard).6. OregonKnown for its Pacific Northwest charm (and, more recently, its hipster cred thanks to Portlandia), Oregon unfortunately also has a high cost of living. Itââ¬â¢s also the dubious winner of the ââ¬Å"highest state tax burdenâ⬠prize, ranking dead last of all the states.7. South CarolinaSouthern charm aside, South Carolina ranks low in almost all of the metrics measured by MoneyRates: median wages, state income tax burden, and workplace safety, specifically.8. MaineWhile Maine has many coastal charms (and the best lobster rolls youââ¬â¢re likely to find anywhere), its cost of living and state income tax burdens are among the higher ones on the list.9. New YorkFrank Sinatra might disagree about the inhospitability of his beloved home city, but as a state New Yorkââ¬â¢s high cost of living (pa rticularly in the metro areas) and very high state income taxes counteract its high median wages.10. MississippiMississippiââ¬â¢s affordable cost of living is unfortunately counteracted by its low median wage and dismal workplace safety ratings.Again, whether you want to move somewhere might be based on factors outside of the ones evaluated here. Your career is about what works best for you, but the best asset you have is information, so itââ¬â¢s in your best interest to take metrics like these into account when youââ¬â¢re making major life and relocation decisions.

MHE507 - Bio-Terrorism Module 2 SLP Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
MHE507 - Bio-Terrorism Module 2 SLP - Essay Example All the means of bioterrorism identified had been considered ââ¬Ëharmfulââ¬â¢ before the attacks issued. During and after the attacks had been identified, the public had blurred the distinction between the harmful and the safe. Nowadays, people fear that everything around them can be used against them. This philosophy has led to negative feedbacks that controlled experiments about weapons of mass destruction earned. The mass fears that (1) the researches would eventually lead to more dangerous weapons, (2) the research is done to further taunt them, and that (3) the scientists are working towards a malicious goal. Any attack, be is large or small, should be considered as a potential attack, bearing in mind that even the simplest attack can lead to more hazardous ones. As a preliminary precaution, the statistics and facts involving the nature of the attack should be studied, and correspondence should be kept at all costs. ââ¬Å"A look at the facts surrounding the outbreak to determine if anything seems unusual or indicative of bioterrorism should suffice (Pavlin, 1999).â⬠The probability of an attack leading to an outbreak should not be overlooked, and at the first sign of an attack all systems should already be ready for surveillance. There are endless cases of possible attacks, ranging from endemic disease outbreak, reemergence of an old disease, the creation of new diseases, laboratory misfortunes to international attack. The researchers involved in the identification of which of the above-mentioned is the case at a certain attack should be able to observe the symptoms of the attack as well as the events that led to it to determine possible cause of administration. According to Pavlin (1999): The cause of a disease or even the occurrence of something unusual may be very difficult to determine, especially if the initial cases are few. Surveillance needs to be more than routine. Not only
